Russ provides holistic, financial, investment and business succession advice that may better position you to reach your long-term goals. As part of The Resource Group, an elite cadre (top 200) of fee based, independent financial planners affiliated with Lincoln Financial Advisors, his clients turn to him as a “CFO” (Chief Financial Officer) for their lifetime financial well-being. Generally, this means providing holistic financial planning to show them an optimal way forward, how to explore ways to improve the risk adjusted investment returns they expect, while trying to avoid unnecessary taxes.
Through his fee based financial planning and investment advisory practice, he helps the client accumulate wealth, protect the wealth they’ve already accumulated and transfer it in unique, tax efficient ways that support their personal or family values.
Russ has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University, is a graduate of The American College, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) program and the Global Academy of Finance and Management, Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM) program and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification. He is listed as a Five Star Wealth Manager in Connecticut Magazine 2013-2017 and has been a continuing education instructor to hundreds of area attorneys, accountants, realtors, and financial planners. Russ is a former member of the board of directors of The Society for Financial Service Professionals, and a registered representative of Lincoln Financial Advisors, a broker/dealer, and an Investment Advisor Representative of Sagemark Consulting, a division of Lincoln Financial Advisors, a Registered Investment Advisor.
Prior to joining Sagemark, Russ held numerous Vice President and General Manager positions for both private and public technology companies. He was co-owner of Lincoln Computer Company, a network design and installation firm. During that time, he invented a computer monitoring, help and security system called NetLinc™ which is in use today in hospital and healthcare systems supporting tens of thousands of users throughout the United States. He successfully sold his firm to an international, publicly traded company in 1998. During his prior 25 years in business, Russ was expert in the design and implementation of financial planning, currency exchange and accounting systems for numerous global public corporations as well as many local and regional companies. He is a frequent contributor to Wounded Warrior, the Hunger Project, and Wooster School, a private college preparatory school in Danbury, CT. Currently living in Coventry, CT with his wife Peggy, Russ is a golfer, boater, skier, shooter, and an experimental helicopter test pilot and mechanic.
